DXO Nik Webinars Cancelled

Did anyone notice how DXO advertised recently various webinars on the different NIK modules, then all of a sudden they were all cancelled due to “technical reasons”.

I was looking forwards to them especially with the new releases so was a little disappointed. Also just struck me as kind of odd.

Wondered if anyone had any insight?

DXO is addressing a couple of major bugs as well as a few other less significant ones that were not identified during beta testing. I expect they will release an updated version fixing those issues soon and I believe they are holding off on the training until these problems are resolved.

I purchased the NIK 4 upgrade and have not experienced any issues or bugs on my windows 10 Pro computers. At DXO Forums there have been users who have reported some bugs. I access NIK from DXO PL4 and not Photoshop. I was signed up for all of the webinars and got the same message--technical reasons.

Users like you and me who export to the Nik Collection 4 from within PhotoLab 4 on Windows 10 are not the people having difficulties with the new version. Also suggesting that there "have been users who have reported some bugs" really understates the seriousness of the issues. There have been literally dozens of complaints on the user forum every day. I am a long time supporter of DXO and all their software and a PhotoLab beta tester, but they have a few significant issues with the Nik Collection 4 which must be resolved quickly.

There hasn't been any official word on whether the 30% discount will be extended. There is a 30 day free trial which I always advise using before purchasing. If you have an older version of the Nik Collection make sure you have the installation files and any activation codes since the Nik Collection 4 will uninstall previous versions before installing.

The biggest changes in the Nik Collection 4 is the major redesign of the UI for Silver Efex Pro and Viveza. It is now a much more modern and easier to use design. This new user interface will eventually be used in all the Nik programs. For many people Silver Efex Pro is the most used of the Nik Programs. Whether this upgrade is right for you depends on what you use the most.

if you do install NIK 4, make sure your older NIK 3 is maintained somewhere like in a downloads file so it can be reinstalled again if needed.

As a general rule, I try to remember to make a copy of any software application before I upgrade it so I have a backup ready to use if I have to reinstall the older version.
