Very nice images!!!!
With your lens there is no reason the whole blossom shouldn't be sharp.
Try using a smaller aperture and manual focus, then focus half way into the flower and the whole flower should end up sharp.

Thanks very much, appreciate the tip. Was in Aperture and cranked it to F8 because of the light.
