A nice day overall. Bright sunshine to dark overcast in minutes! 11:15 AM PDT, 63 F, lite breeze from the South.

The Bald Eagle, a Fifth Winter juvenile? Flew around and around a tree. The bird went around eight or nine times then flew off West. Heat shimmer ruined most shots-posted a few that looked okay.

The Bumblebee landed on the Red Clover at my feet. I was sitting on a bench and had move away to get to minimum focusing distance!

While making some panos-ruined by heat distortion- I noticed this European Staring land nearby. So I grabbed a few shots just in case. He was rooting around in the some seaweed and found a tiny crab! Guten Appetit!

The last shot is of at least 16 Bald Eagles out over 330 yards! With my unaided eyes I could just make out the "bumps" on the oyster mounds revealed during very low tide. This is a representative shot through the heat distortion and all!

D500, 500pF, 1/2500, f 8, ISO 720. Handheld, no EC or CPL.

Download all but the last shot-please?

Enjoy!

Mother Nature will have her way, Tim. That's why I always try for early shots in this part of the country.
