And I know who lived there:

He's a real nowhere man
Sitting in his nowhere land
Making all his nowhere plans for nobody

Day after day, alone on a hill,
The man with the foolish grin is keeping perfectly still...

Looks to me as if the image is slightly tilted to the left.

Actually, the topography contains a slight rise in the horizon from left to right. So...

Would like to see your idea about the crop - post here or PM me if you're so inclined!

On the other hand, the very positive - thing is that you took this one, Tom!
Bravo!

Beautifully done, Tommy. The download is fabulous, great "big sky country" composition.

This is a beautiful image and portrays what I think about when I envision eastern Montana. I have been to western Montana and Glacier NP but never eastern Montana. I hope to get there one day. BTW, the roofline of the building appears to be very level to my eye, parallel with the bottom border of the image. Do you use a 'bubble level' or grid lines when composing your shots? Whatever, I enjoyed this picture very much.

Success! You have some very nice elements in this landscape - beautiful blue sky with puffy white clouds, green prairie and an interesting old building. It looks like a beautiful day!

Thanks for your kind comments! I generally use the simple grid lines in the viewfinder of my camera. Then, if i need some additional "tweaking" to make the image level, I do that with the Crop tool in Photoshop.

2buckskin recently posted a very cool landscape image from Wyoming using negative space to showcase some very hardy trees. I liked the idea and thought I might try it out here. Montana is Big Sky Country and has a LOT of open spaces. That's the feeling I tried to convey...

Feel free to post your negative space images if you'd like!
