2buckskin recently posted a very cool landscape image from Wyoming using negative space to showcase some very hardy trees. I liked the idea and thought I might try it out here. Montana is Big Sky Country and has a LOT of open spaces. That's the feeling I tried to convey...

That says it very well. Before I visited Montana, I used to wonder why the state would call it Big Sky Country. When I got there, it became very clear!

And I know who lived there:

He's a real nowhere man
Sitting in his nowhere land
Making all his nowhere plans for nobody
Doesn't have a point of view
Knows not where he's going to
Isn't he a bit like you and me?
Nowhere man please listen
You don't know what you're missing
Nowhere man, the world is at your command
He's as blind as he can be
Just sees what he wants to see
Nowhere man, can you see me at all
Nowhere man don't worry
Take your time, don't hurry
Leave it all 'til somebody else
Lends you a hand
Ah, la, la, la, la
Doesn't have a point of view
Knows not where he's going to
Isn't he a bit like you and me?
Nowhere man please listen
You don't know what you're missing
Nowhere man, The world is at your command
Ah, la, la, la, la
He's a real nowhere man
Sitting in his nowhere land
Making all his nowhere plans for nobody
Making all his nowhere plans for nobody
Making all his nowhere plans for nobody

The simplicity of the subject speaks by itself. Isolating an important part of the scene and keeping a simple visual design certainly has a lot of impact. The subject looks like a barn to me and the beautiful clouds are an important part of the composition.
This is one of those images where the negative space works to perfection. I would have cropped differently but that only would be my taste that is different to the taste of others. We are all different.

Looks to me as if the image is slightly tilted to the left. May I suggest that you try to straighten that out and see if the results look more pleasant to your eyes.
All in all it is a beautiful image.

If there is anyplace that lends itself to "negative space" images, it's Big Sky Country. The challenge is to not make it look so lonely and isolated. Nice image, Tommy.

Very nice. I like the offset to the left. Negative space is underutilized. People tend to zoom in as far as they can, and they miss the scene. A good example is air shows. People tend to zoom in so far that all you see is part of the plane.

That is the epitome of why I love Montana. When I get there, my being relaxes.
