You are a very early riser Mike, and partially still in the snow zones - I couldn't do that anymore! Like your shots, particularly with the reflections and details in the dark foreground.
Thanks, Joe, landscapes in this part of the country get very washed out as the sun gets high. The shadows and light angles help me present the beauty of these mountains.
Beautiful images Mike - what a great set!!

I went up the Big Cottonwood Canyon last week to check on the status of wildflowers (it will be a while). At the top of the canyon is Brighton Ski Resort and a US Forest Service area - Silver Lake. Silver Lake sits at 8760 feet and is fed by melting snow. There is a one-mile path around the lake with a sedge meadow around the lake.
This set is shots of the lake starting about 6:30 AM as I walked around it.
Downloads are best.
Thanks for the beautiful early morning tour.

Such beautiful scenery, especially like the reflection in #7.
Always a special adventure, thanks for sharing Mike.
Lovely series. We are at 460-ft. elevation which is why the rivers to the east and to the west flow toward us and into our Mississippi on its way to the gulf.
Great colors, and the image with the reflections in the lake is outstanding! Nice work, Mike!
Beautifully done, Mike. The downloads are fabulous, especially love the lake reflection images.
UTMike,
This is a beautiful set of images. At 8760 feet of elevation, I am surprised by the lack of ice in the lake the following spring/summer. I recall Ice Lake in the Wallowa Wilderness of Oregon at 8,000 feet having ice and Lake Solitude in the Tetons at 9,000 feet having ice the following August. This leads me to think there was not a lot of precipitation in your area this past winter. Is that true? I know there is a widespread drought over all the west for the past several years. Be that as it may, your set of images are very, very pleasant to look at.
