This is as close to what I have as they are constantly updating. I have had mine since 2000.https://www.rei.com/product/152928/thermacell-mr300-portable-mosquito-repeller?CAWELAID=120217890006709614&CAGPSPN=pla&CAAGID=112509796491&CATCI=pla-447612910725&cm_mmc=PLA_Google%7C21700000001700551_1529280001%7C92700056454475471%7CNB%7C71700000062146807&gclid=CjwKCAjw2ZaGBhBoEiwA8pfP_nCcvwUM8FRv5aKOSD241YKJhx7UX6evGSAMJ8SDmorCftM0522ADBoCuAgQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

Thanks scooter. That sums up what I was thinking all along. I noticed they didn't mention those green coils which are moderately effective as long as you stay close to them. The one fool proof way to avoid bites is to wear long pants, socks, shoes, long sleeved buttoned up shirt and bee veil. I'm using a prescription allergy med to keep from scratching and to help me sleep. I was wearing shorts for a few minutes in the evening when I got attacked from behind. Never again!

I know sometimes it's too warm to wear long clothing and can be uncomfortable. I still think your best bet is the thermacell. Just clip it to your belt and forget about it. I'm thinking it would be similar to the green coils except it's moves with you on your belt or somewhere on your body. When I hike in higher altitudes in the mountains the mosquitos are outrageous. You can hear them over your head and when you look up there's literally thousands in swarms above you. Thermacell is $19.97 amazon prime.

The coils are lit so that they smolder and send out nice smelling smoke tendrils. I'll look into the thermacell belt clips. I now have 2 tubes of stinky smelling Skin So Soft lotion that doesn't do diddly squat to repel mosquitoes. I guess I'll donate them. I would like to be able to wear shorts when it's 80 degrees at 7:30 pm with 60% humidity.

Me too and I hate putting creams, lotions or sprays on my skin.
