Great photo.
Were you visiting in Pittsburgh?

Nice find. Question: does the man get lost in the colors of the background? This one might be a candidate for Voss’ experiment.

We were visiting my husband's cousin - this was taken from the passenger window as we passed the bridge.

Interesting thought! Here's the B/W version - I think he gets a bit lost against all the background detail but really didn't want to crop closer b/c I liked the overall composition.

I think the color and the b&w both work in this case since the colors involved are not bright and therefore eye-catching. His shirt is white so we are more attracted by his humanism than the colors. Nice shot either way!
Very good, Sue. I like the way you put the man off in the corner. It emphasizes the emptiness of the scene, while also showing off the bridge. It also brings to mind the problem we've gone through with Covid, and people not spending any time outside.
I personally like the B&W more for this subject. Nice one, Sue!

I like the color version. It brings out the bridge.
The curved lines of the bridge, contrasted with the angular lines of the buildings, is a visual treat. The single walker adds a nice feel and impact. Personally prefer the color image, but both have interest and impact. Nice work, Sue!
Thanks everyone! I personally like both the color and B/W - the B/W because it's "classic" street and the color because it highlights one of Pittsburgh's many yellow bridges - the city must have gotten a price break on that yellow paint!
