Shot this on vacation several years ago before I understood many of the setting on a camera. The picture needs a lot of work in the shadows then you'l have to watch not to blow out the whites. Should be a good challenge for the new and improved editing software I've seen advertised.
You might be wondering if this can be restored, I tested the picture and I know it can come around and be improved. Improved enough is the question.
Posted here is the jpg.

Thanks RG for posting, I was worried others would see this as an impossible task since the original was so dark. The shadow areas are now visible. 👍
Will see what others will now bring to the table. 👀
Concentrated on the waterfall and pool (tried to ameliorate some of the brown water, but with limited effect). Opened up the shadows on the rocks to the right of the fall, removed foreground boulders.
As is often the case, please view the Download for best effect.
Lots of headroom in that Nikon file - here's my view:
Here's my take on this weeks image
Reduced the highlights in the water-fall. Added some additional red to the red leaf, flower, or whatever.
Fun image to work with. Thanks.
I made it like a multi color collage! This is my view hope you like it!

This one, to me, had to be black and white. I tried to accentuate the diagonal of the falls and eliminate extraneous elements.
