Dinner on Memorial Day this year was beef tri tip smoked in the Traeger grill. The tri tip was rubbed with salt, pepper, garlic salt and Traeger beef rub and allowed to sit so the spices could soak in. I set the pellet grill to 225 degrees and put the tri tip in to smoke it. I let it sit until the internal temperature was 135 degrees, then took it off and heated the grill to 500 degrees. Then I seared it for 5 minutes on each side, removed it and let it rest a few minutes before slicing and serving. The steak was served with mac & cheese, ranch style beans and tossed salad. Mmmmmm, good!

And it was good tasting, as well. I don’t normally do food photography, but every once in awhile I will. Thanks for looking.

Ive done the same on the traeger. But never seared on the grill. Gonna have to try that method. Sure looks good
Boy, does that ever look good! Red meat bad for health, but there's no way I would pass that up.

Thank you. It did a pretty good job at searing. I turned the heat up to 400 degrees to sear and it worked well.
