This is a photo of King Ludwig’s magnificent Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany. Shortly after this photo was taken, a flight of dragons appeared and started circling the castle. Knowing that photographing dragons is certain to provoke their ire, I resisted the temptation. Tragically, a group of tourists near us were unaware of the dragons’ extreme reaction to being photographed. Sadly, they were all incinerated as soon as they aimed their Canons at the dragons. Equally tragic is the exposure of this photograph. It is pretty flat light. I’ll be interested to see your edits.

What a surprise to see your photo. In 1960 our family moved to Munich for a year, and we spent much of the time seeing the sights in Germany and other European countries. When I was told we were going to see this castle and shown a picture, I knew this was the real magic kingdom. I was 8. I recall vividly following the uphill path anxious to get the first glimpse of it. The interior is of course fabulous. I look forward to making an edit. We are just settling in to our new home. Just plugged in my laptop.

You need a head for heights to live in a place like that.
.
Beautiful image Erich - here's my somewhat moody view of this wonderful castle:

It was not too much of a problem. The castle was never finished inside and the King only spent a very short amount of time living there. He met a tragic end. Pretty good story.

I remember being there and going through the castle. What an array of wealth!
Here's my version. It's my basic LR touches with the addition of a graduated neutral density filter to add a bit of drama to the sky.

I like the sky and you decided to keep it dark. Well done.

I haven't seen this Castle in person. Had a hard time figuring out what color the stone work should be.
