I’m continuing to test my iPhone 12 Pro Max while spending time on Maui and Kauai. I’ve tried using the native iPhone camera as well as the Lightroom camera. Except for the option of Depth Capture in the Lightroom camera in certain very limited situations, I’ve been able to stick with just the iPhone camera and get almost everything I’ve wanted. At this point, the only thing frustrating me is the reach, or lack thereof; like at the Spouting Horn which was full of some beautifully colored roosters, I couldn’t get anything close up and had to use my D7100.
I do like being able to walk around with my camera in my pocket. Here’s one of a day at Ka’anapali Beach on Maui. This one had only minor editing (straightening the horizon) done in Snapseed. Enjoy!
Picture looks very nice. Colors look good👍
The limited reach with IPhone's or Smartphones for that matter is to be expected. There is a way however to be able to capture long range subject matter. A few years ago I was in Yellowstone National Park and was trying to get a shot of a bear off in the distance. I started talking to a guy there that was using an IPhone attached to a spotting scope. He showed me some amazing images on his phone of wolfs, bears, Bizon etc. He said his son owned the company that made the adapters. He gave me a brochure. Here is a link for that if you are interested.

This is very cool! My hubby usually carries his binoculars with him, so if I’m real nice, he might let me borrow them...
I saw a young man sitting in the stands at a high school football game one time just holding his phone up and shooting through his binoculars, he got some very good shots. I can never hold the 2 steady enough to get a single one.
Thank you so much for sharing!
