*Transform your on-camera flash into an omni-directional light source with the MagSphere, designed for use with the MagMod flash modifier system. The soft, diffused light is flattering and it has an integrated gel slot for adjusting the color of your flash. The two neodymium rare-earth magnets allow it to quickly attach to a separately available MagGrip.*
Magmods are great for extending the reach of a flash unit. They are a great assist when you are shooting birds sitting up into tree foliage.

Speaking of tree, and barking up a wrong one, at a glance this verrrry clearly a soft lighting device. (Just look at it.)
Acoarst if your bird is 4 feet away, it’s a very flattering portrait light. But I suspect most users will use it for people portraits and nearly macro subjects ... and for that usage they should be very happy with it.

MagMod has a host of accessories that will mount to the base unit. Among these is a fresnel type flash focusing lens to extend the reach of your flash for bird photography or anything else you might be needing a longer reaching flash for.

The Magmod features a fresnel lens and is designed specifically for increasing the distance the light output will light a subject. I used on in Africa when shooting baboons and monkeys in the tree canopy as well as leopards high up in trees and can tell you first had that Magmods are far more than a light softner.
FWIIW, I have this and like it. I do have the sphere and the wildlife snoot / freznel kind of thing. It all works great.

BS just muddies the thread. The lady is
