Hello, I'm Bri.

People call me Bri. My name is actually Brittany. I have always had some type of interest in photography. I wanted to take classes in high school, but they weren't available. I have a family member who happens to be a photographer. This has only made my interest in this subject grow. I will have to teach myself everything, as I have no clue what anything means... or does for that matter. I just point in shoot currently.

I find myself liking the -weird- shots. You know, the ones that didn't quite turn out the way you intended. They are extremely distorted for one reason or another. They just make you stare. These usually end up being my favorite.

I don't know if I'll ever become good enough to be a professional in any sense of the word, but I enjoy capturing the things that I find beautiful. I guess, it's because I can show them rather than tell them. I'm not a very good communicator, so trying to explain why I find beauty in something they think is ugly is hard.

I look forward to sharing opinions, and learning from you guys. ^_^

Only one I had on the computer that wasn't of my son. =p

Yes Bri-- an interesting shot--- I look for a "point of interest" probly the bush on the left that is in blossom--- I might like it better if that bush was in better focus---

welcome this is a great place full of friendly helpful folk who are eager to help. First step read your manual for whatever camera you own. second get yourself a good introdution to photography book. go to your library and check out what they have. If you find one that is usefull go yo a bookstore and buy it. Untill you get comfortable you will be refering to it often. Next remember it isn't the camera that makes a great photo, it is the photographer and what is between her ears. practice go out and shoot, post your photos for critique aply what you learn shoot some more post repeat. I would subscribe to popular photography magazine. Not just for the usefull articles but for rthe photos. study the lighting, subject matter, what settings th ephotographer used. Remeber this is a journey you wont stop learning until you wake up and stare into ST. Peters eyes.

Ronnie - Thanks. I agree with your opinion. That is my favorite bush, and it looked so beautiful in the rain.

Sinatraman - Thank you! <3 Any help is appreciated!

Alanna - It is nice to know there are people that -just- get it. It'd be nice to have a buddy to share similar experiences and opinions with.

Here is a similar one, but I don't like it as much. For me it's the missing tree.

Your photos are out of focus and you have water drops from the rain on the lense. Read the manual for for your
camera and learn the settings. Putting it in auto is a good start, then when you push the button down half way, the camera will focus itself. It will take some work but you can become the professional that you want to be.

Rich, the water on the lens was the only thing that made the photo interesting. 8-)

Actually, there wasn't water on the lens. I took the picture through a window. You unfortunately can see the reflection of the camera in the window on the first posted picture. I wouldn't expose a camera directly to water unless that camera happened to be specifically built for that purpose. I also did not use the -auto- feature on the camera. For whatever reason that setting always uses flash. I did however use a preset setting. I was experimenting with the same shot using different settings to see what I got. These were the only ones to turn out. My main focus was the red bush, but I also wanted to capture the rain as well. But thank you for your feedback.

~edit~ The reflection is on top of the tree.

Hi Bri, nice to meet you! Your pic is awesome! The great thing about photos is that you don't need to speak-you only need to look and observe.

I see a rainy lazy day in this pic with a wonder if it will end soon.

:)
