Shoe box scanning is a term coined by the photo lab industry.
The concept is for customers to gather up all of their photo prints and put them in a box.
The photo lab in-turn will scan them all for a flat fee.
There are thousands of prints out there waiting to be scanned as well as slides and negatives. You can start a business right out of your home and have no overhead.
In order to make a profit it is imperative that you have fast and bulk scanning equipment which is what this system is.
Other scanning needs are to scan slides and negatives. These are usually charged on a per scan basis since it requires a little more labor.
This system provides facility to scan 4x6, 5x7, 8x10 prints with the Kodak Picture Scanner PS810. New this scanner sold for $3,500.
The Kodak PS810 can scan 4x6 prints at a rate of 65 per minute at 300 dpi.

The Epson Professional V750 Pro flatbed scanner will scan prints up to 8x10 and 35mm negatives, 35mm slides, Medium format Negatives, 4x5 negatives
and 8x10 negatives. All trays are included.
The V750 will produce a very high resolution file for any of the formats.

Included with the system is a MSI Computer with touch screen and all of the scanning software installed for both scanners.
Also installed on the computer is Photoshop CS6. So if you want to do some touchup or customer work, you can charge extra.
There is also a recovery program to recover images from corrupt cards.
The computer is obsolete in today’s technology but I solely used it for this system and it worked just fine.
This makes the system self contained and no need to connect to the internet unless you want to.
