Last night I set my Kindle to a tinted screen that's supposed to be better for watching at night. When I clicked on a cartoon to save it, I realized I was saving a heavily tinted image. I'll post the processed versions and one original so you can see the difference.

I remember when gas was twenty-five cents, so I must be older than that old man. I remember telling the attendant to put $2.00 worth into the tank.

I'm a fan of the Oxford comma. : )

I remember Mom sending me off on my bike to get a quart of milk from the milk machine. She gave me twenty cents!

For you kiddies - a milk machine was like a refrigerated soda machine, but it dispensed....... milk!

I remember when Lucky Strike cigarettes' were .22 cents a pack. My old man would give me a quarter to put in a machine. The pack was wrapped in cellophane with three pennies inside. That was my tip for going. Ahh.. the good old days!

As a young teen I pumped gas at my father's independent station in the early 60's. Price for Regular was .25 cents and High Test (now Premium) was .27 cents. Didn't sell much Premium.

For my first car (a 1932 Chevy., without fenders.) in 1947, I bought gas a quarter ($0.25) at a time. Good for about 25 miles.

My first car was a VW Carmin Ghia (sp?) I remember telling my passengers one night I needed money for gas, some one offered my $5, I told them I could fill the tank twice for that. I don't remember what the price per gallon was at the time.
When I was very young I remember my father shopping around to find the gas station that posted the price of gas at .20 and not .20 9/10

Yes, I remember that. Charles Chips was one of the delivering companies.

My wife had a 67 VW Bug, you couldn't put $3 worth of gas in the tank at 32 cents a gallon. (9 gallon gas tank)

Back in the '60s I was in the Air Force and one duty station was Hickam AFB in Hawaii. The price of gas at that time was about 25ยข a gallon. However, in Hawaii the price was about $1.50/gallon. But the price on base was the same as the mainland price. Needless to say I made sure I got gas on base. I did get stuck having to get gas off base one time but I only bought enough to get me to the base.
