Welcome all Foodies and food photo enthusiasts. I’m quixdraw, one of the Administrators of the Section. Many thanks to all of those who helped get the Section approved through their early support
First off, all of the general rules of the site apply to the Through the eyes and lens of a Foodie section.
A few general Guidelines – suggestions / additions will be considered and appreciated.
General Content
Food / Beverages /Consumables
Photos of plated, self- prepared, restaurant prepared or other finished dishes or food products photographed as served or completed, including in serving dishes. From the cocktail before to the Brandy after and everything between is eligible. Recalling the old term for all stages of a formal dinner, “ from Soup to Nuts”.
Cooking
A photogenic step or two in the cooking process – not a “How To” covering the entire process, nor should dialog accompanying detail the entire process. Also, appropriate, any attractive or interesting display of ingredients and or implements. A photo of a key or dramatic step in the preparation process also admissible. No video please.
Restaurant
Your food as presented, ambiance, décor, table setting, crystal, the front of the establishment, even shots of your party, but not staff or other patrons. No restaurant reviews, particularly nothing negative. It would be appropriate to identify as an old favorite or new find, etc. You may name restaurants and their location.
If a very rare unfortunate meal is encountered, please let it pass for this site.
Note: Home table settings are also appropriate.
Recipes
Original recipes can be added as a PDF or offered on request via PM. No scans or copies from published materials please. Nearly any recipe can be found on the internet and provided as a link. It is recommended that before a “new to you” recipe is shared, it be cooked and eaten, corrected and adjusted as may be needed. (I’m thinking of a recipe from a very good source I tried recently which would have been charcoal without more than double the specified fluids.)
Please let me know if you have suggestions, ideas or questions.
