I have DeNoise and Sharpen. Download the trial. Take a pic at 6400 ISO or higher then apply Denoise. You'll be sold.

CLARK AND TOPAZ ARE RIGHT, AND YOU MUST CONFIGURE YOUR RAM MEMORY IN THE BIOS. ALSO TO DO A FAST TRICK ONE NEEDS AN ADIQUOTE GRAPHIS CARD WITH LOTS OF MEMORY

When I built my present computer about a year ago... a COVID Bordom inoculation. I did some UT watching on how to turn DDR-4 memory in the BIOS. The BIOS reverts to a default value for sluggish memory a waste of fast thinking memory. No, I did not overclock, but yes I did push to the fastest suggested configuration. My DDR-4 was rated at 3200 and was set at a default 1600... DDR4 is low-cost now I have 32 gigs of memory. I recall a comparison between 2 16s and 4 8s... before buying one should look that up.. I have 4 sticks, but not because of any good reason, just bought a few months apart... spent some of my COVID money.

One of the latest CPU sales thing is to add graphics... well yes it costs a lot... adding a g after my 3600 would have been a $ waste since I have 4 gig of DDR5 on my NVIDIA card, a 1050Ti. The 1050Ti and the 1060Ti are under $200. The 1050Ti was an excellent card 2 y before and for still photos is still a good performer. Gamers go crazy and buy super cards ... not deeded for photo editing. Do ask Mr Google for current up-to-date advice. Without the Ti there is only 2 gig of on card memory [I recall?].

Thanks, I have an i9-9900k & 32 gig ram @3200 ghz with an NVIDIA rtx 2060 (w 6gb) also M.2 PCIe SSD. But, your comment made me check the ram speed and sure enough it was at 2133 ghz. I don't know why. When I originally built it last year, I set it at 3200. Perhaps it was reset during a Bios upgrade, kind of annoying....

Anyway, thanks for your comment, because I probably would not have checked it (since I "knew" it was set at 3200).
BTW, because of supply chain shortages GPU prices have skyrocketed.

Joexx,
I have been running Topaz Studio 2 along with Adjust 5 and Simplify for a very long time and could not be more pleased. Studio 2 is amazingly versatile.
Topaz products are excellent for my needs.
I do not have AI and I am contemplating getting it but I am not sure I need it.
I canceled my PS and bought Elements 20 to use in conjunction with Topaz and have never looked back.
I am neither a pro photographer nor am I a Pro editor but everyone seems impressed with what these two can do.

Topaz Sharpen AI and Denoise AI are the best plugins. You can't go wrong with these .

Joexx,
Here is a link that may help in your decision to try Topaz.

https://capturetheatlas.com/topaz-studio-2/#:~:text=Although%20Topaz%20Studio%202%20includes,Denoise%20AI%20and%20Sharpen%20AI.

Although Topaz Studio 2 includes a tool called AI Clear to reduce digital noise and enhance original detail, Topaz Labs offers two dedicated pieces of software to tackle these common problems in photography: Topaz Denoise AI and Sharpen AI.

Very interested in getting the discount code but I don't understand what a PM is. If I knew what that is I'd send it to you. Thanks. Ace Paladino

"PM" means private message. Click on the individual's name, and on the next screen click "send private message."

hi
I also use all three and am very pleased with them. I just signed for the one year update for $99.00. I have had them a while. They are faster but since I got a new gaming computer to edit videos it really makes a difference. Check around for the best price I even emailed the company and that's how I got the $99.00 price for all. I have the complete set.

I use it a lot. Quite satisfied even with some minor glitches, and I have a lot of computing power.

I use DeNoise and Sharpen. I got DeNoise because I was using high ISO on my bird pictures, and it works great.
I tried Sharpen on the recommendation of a UHH member, and I am glad that I did.
Gigapixel was also recommended, maybe I will try that one also, but I don't think that I really need it. Maybe next sale.

I think Topaz gigabite can replace a long lens. Instead of shooting with a 600mm f11, which requires an unacceptably high ISO, shoot with 200mm f2.8 and crop and then enlarge the image in Topaz gigabite to get acceptable mp in the final image.

De Noise has become part of my workflow for all images. Noise in many instances is the result of underexposed images, like you might get in poor light while trying to maintain a high shutter speed to freeze you subject (I shoot mainly birds). Under those conditions you might be questioning whether you should invest in a fast lens (a 400mm f/2.8 is a ton more expensive than a 400mm f/4) De Noise does such a good job you don't need that fast glass to keep the noise down. Well worth it IMO. AI Sharpen is good as well but IMO not nearly as necessary as De Noise. Right now, I have having some major issues with Sharpen. On my computer (MacBook Pro) it was painfully slow (the latest version) and now will not open. I am working with Topaz labs to try to get it back up and running, but so far no luck.

Topaz Studio 2 User Guide: https://guide.topazlabs.com/studio2/

I am a huge fan of Topaz Labs AI products. If I had to pick just three of their products they would be Sharpen AI, Denoise AI, and Adjust AI. With these three programs, I can do about 90% of what I routinely want to accomplish. They offer eight products in all. The Topaz Products FAQs below should answer any question about all of the eight products they offer including computer requirements. These eight Topaz Products come with a free trial and once purchased they have one year of free updates for each program. These Topaz Products AI programs are very powerful and a constantly being upgraded and updated free for one year. I use the default settings and I am seldom disappointed. Topaz products also automatically add a tag (prefix/suffix) to your file for nondestructive editing. Or, you may add your own prefix or suffix.

After you start to feel comfortable using their products then give the following a try:
After loading a file select all of the "Full Auto" selections, run "Update", then . . select File, Preferences, Reset, and Close.
This allows the program to select the best/fastest settings for your computer.
Now select "Save Image" as you desire for the type of file, location, etc.

Another hint. Close all programs not in use as this will allow your computer to perform at its best.
After doing this, open "Task Manager" select "Performance" and watch the graphs as the program processes the file to see if you have enough Memory/CPU etc.
Also: DO NOT select "Auto-Update Preview"!! It may be handy for making small changes but it will REALLY ADD to your processing times!

Smile,
JimmyT Sends

I recently looked at several reviews of Topaz DeNoise Ai & Sharpen Ai & Gigapixel Ai. I have heard some positive comments about this software, but I have never used it. I usually do OK with removing noise & sharpening through Lightroom & Photoshop. For what it is worth, I find Lightroom sharpening very poor for anything other than basic sharpening. Compared to Photoshop, it is like using an axe instead of a scalpel, very crude.
Anyway, I am interested in opinions about these products.
The Gigapixel Ai seems like it might be useful for shots where I need to crop just a little too much, because I could not get close enough. In checking prices, it seems that if you use some discount codes the cost of these 3 products is about $127. Is that a good price?
I shoot with a Nikon D750 and often do BIF & mostly outdoor nature stuff. Thanks everyone in advance.

You may want to review these links before deciding if Lightroom's sharpening is insufficient for your needs:

https://photographylife.com/how-to-properly-sharpen-images-in-lightroom

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mSg_JYuULB8

https://jkost.com/blog/2019/05/the-texture-slider-in-lightroom-classic.html

Using sharpening and resizing utilities that use AI often results in nasty artifacts and less than optimal images.

The only other significntly better software in this department would be DXO Photolab 4 Elite, which has Deep Prime noise reduction and image enhancement along with Clear View Plus (similar to Lightroom but better) and Viewpoint (also similar to Lightrooms's Transform panel, but more robust). It also has better lens profiles. Another nice feature that I use often is it's ability to generate a Lightroom-readable dng file, so that you can have the best of both worlds. It also comes with Nik software - world-class image enhancement suite with presets and a wide rage of adjustments, masking, B&W conversion, etc.

I'm not saying that Topaz isn't good software, but I am saying that for my needs, Lightroom/Photoshop is more than adequate, and when I have certain challenging images, it helps to have DXO.

I just got an email about this - seems to be at least as good if not better than the competition.
