Shot the Squirrel then the Hawk

In the spring and summer our property is overrun with ground squirrels. I do what I can to reduce the population. Yesterday I was out culling the herd. After dispatching one unlucky squirrel, almost immediately a red tailed hawk swooped down from a pine tree and snatched up his lunch. My 7D2 got a burst of images as it picked up the squirrel and tried to fly off. My camera was set on spot focus so not all images are tack sharp. Even so, I believe this is a priceless wildlife capture. If you zoom in to the squirrel's head you can see its teeth/fangs

I hope you enjoy the image.

I bet the hawk appreciates any help your culling gives him.

Unfortunately, you posted a resized image that is only 960-pixels wide. There is not the pixel resolution needed to see any details. The colorspace also is not sRGB. Consider an image in sRGB that is 2048px wide as discussed in this post:

Think of the hawk as your assistant, for it cleans up the carcasses you left behind. What is the hawk’s salary.

Hooray! Keep in mind, when you share an image that does not use the universal online default of the sRGB colorspace, no one is guaranteed to 'see' the same colors / color tones of the image as you've created and see on your monitor.

Great timing, not so much for the squirrel.
