AndreaMosaic and something called a Wine Library

I have successfully used a program called AndreaMosaic for several years. It took awhile to get it upgraded for compatibility with Big Sur on my Mac (iMac 27, late 2015, running Big Sur v 11.2.2). I downloaded the new version and received an error that it cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified.
The AndreaMosaic website indicates that Mac's Catalina OS uses the latest version of the Wine library; that that version has been reported by antivirus software as Malware; they believe it's a false positive report; and, download this version at your own risk.
AndreaMosaic suggests using "CrossOver for Mac" or "Porting Kit" software to run their app, but there are also comments that they, too, have had reports of antivirus report issues.
All of the information about these apps makes me feel I need to be a programmer of some sort, and the last time I did that was in college in the late 60's writing something in BASIC.
I'm leary of installing another application in order to bypass a Virus/Malware message to use this app.
Do any of you UGG users have experience with these apps - CrossOver for Mac or Porting Kit? Would you know what the Wine Library is (sounds great to me, but I'm thinking it's a different kind of wine than what I like) and how it might be utilized in evaluating potential malware?
Would you suggest I seek help through either AndreaMosaic or Apple?
Alternatively, are you familiar with another mosaic creating software?

For anyone interested, here's what I was able to make following my retirement in 2016 - it's comprised of all the selfies taken during my farewell tour, celebrating and saying goodbye to all the wonderful people I worked with through the previous 40+ years. I'm trying to create another one now of my grandson making the game-winning catch in one of his last high school football games.

I downloaded the program for windows.
The Wine Library is nothing to worry about. It is a 'simple programming' tool that is used to call 'routines'.
I use windows. There is no difference as to the purpose. As to the false flag, it often happens when dealing with programming.
