Sunspot AR’s 2818, 20 & 21 showing on Ol' Sol this afternoon.

Shot with a Nikon P1000 and Orion White Light filter, tripod mounted, best single image out of seven subs.

Enjoy!

Neat image you can see some of the granular surface of the sun as well as the batch of sunspots. Have you tried stacking a bunch of solar image to help reduce atmospheric turbulence?

If you stack be sure all images taken over short time. Sun rotates faster then one expects. I sent some to Zerene? when I had problems, pointed out it appeared images weren't same, they weren'tπŸ˜•πŸ˜•πŸ˜•

Hi JBRIII
I noticed that latest version of Winjupos now includes the sun for image de-rotation from video. I have used this routine in the past for Mars, Jupiter and Saturn and it works well. You still don't want to go too long as the very edge will blur a bit but the main body of the object will be clear, but several minutes of video shouldn't be any issue allowing >10,000 frames to be stacked.

Thanks; I had photos maybe an hour or so apart, just did not think!
