One of the greprt pleasures of this hobby of photography is to be able to try different things with your camera. Its especially more fun digital as your ability to try different things are endless. (not like the good old times with film). With film you only had the chance to manipulate your captures in the dark room. While this too was enjoyable I find that by working in digital it has become much more pleasurable (and a helluva lot quicker also). Thats especially true not that I'm getting on in age.
This picture was taken on a very foggy/misty day with a cold westerly wind blowing of the frigid waters of Lake Superior. It may not be the greatest pic in the world but I like how it turned out. And I guess in the long run that is the main reason we do this, to make ourselves happy.
Now I do not shoot in RAW nor do I use any fancy PP program. All my shots are JPG and I use a $40 program called PhotoPad from Australia. I don't have either the patience or time anymore to sit behind a puter and work on a pic for an extended period of time. Most of my pics are as close to SOC as I can make thusly my pics usually take me less than a minute of process.
Any thoughts or critique on this is welcome as even an old timer like I can (sometimes) learn new tricks.

Exactly how I imagine Jonathon Livingston Seagull
I think this is a lovely shot. The backlighting makes his wings so beautiful.
