First from Monday, the others from 2018. When I remarked on UHH that I'd only see this train traveling from north to south in the canyon, a railroad aficionado did the research and confirmed it's true

(for those interested in the location, the northern end of the canyon is Ellensburg, Washington; southern end is near Yakima)

I only had my Olympus for a month before I attempted this eagle fly-by!

Love the eagle racing the train. That is a beautiful, colorful train and I really love the third shot. It is a great landscape with the bonus of the train.

LOL, I confess I didn't see the finish

Thanks for your kind words, J. Haven't done much photography this year. In 2020 I was active with a Facebook group that gave us weekly themes. Quite a bit could be done at home and in Yakima County we have been able to drive around without limitations - so much open space, farmland and orchards. Shooting from the car is something I was doing before covid too

Really like the first one - looks like a powerful animal waiting to strike it's prey from the bush!

I keep looking at the last image. I think I recognize that tree across the river.
And maybe not.....

The tree furthest to the right is the one with the eagle nest I photographed (and shared) for five years

On Monday I did not see mama on the nest (only one eagle in vicinity). I know that pair had been around for many years, so maybe the end? There is a nest (with mama sitting) further upriver that I wouldn't have noticed but for an eagle-eyed friend. The nest is protected by a lot of branches, so probably won't be easy to photograph the youngsters.

Thanks again Pat!
