What killed my rabbit?

Walked outside and saw this decapitated rabbit. Any ideas what’s hunting here?

Not a pretty picture - sad. Could be a Fox or a bird of prey (hawk, owl, eagle).

Most predators would have eaten it or carried it away so my guess is possibly a dog.

Cats are carnivores and they eat their prey. I suspect that it was something small for it did not drag it away. I believe that a dog would have carried it off if it were to eat it.

very few predators will spend the energy to kill something and not eat it all... i would suspect an interrupted fox or (if you have them in your area) a fisher cat (which isn't a cat - more a weasel on steroids and bad acid) ...

I assume there are no land mines of C4 lying around. What kind of predators do you have in the area?
