I got out yesterday wandering around the weeds looking for wildflowers and had a bit of success. The first is a small tree or large bush (about 10feet tall) that I don't recall seeing before. I would appreciate help with the ID, did some searching with minimal luck. Some are a bit soft as I was fighting a gusty breeze and a wobbly me.
Thanks for viewing.

The mystery plant. Any opinions on the ID?

Texas Bluebonnets. These seem extra deep blue, perhaps due to the soil.

Fleabane, wind was bouncing it around and didn't really notice the bug until processing.

Blackberry, some growing along county road and railroaad track. Birds have spread then everywhere.

Bill, What beautiful Wildflowers you captured in North Texas. Thanks for sharing compared to what we have in Chicago

It has been a while since I was in Hill Country for the bluebonnets. Must say that I miss it. While I like your shots, Bill, I might like to see some that put the flowers more in their environment, ie zoom out with a good background.

Thank you for your reply and comment. I've never been to the Hill Country, but have seen may grat shots from there. I agree that including some environmental pictures would be nice, they just weren't there for these. I was out in our neighborhood getting some exercise and knew there were a few scattered among the dead weeds in a field. The closest place I know of for the swaths of color are 40-50 miles away around Waxahachie and Ennis. I hope to get over there before the season is over.

If you swing by Fredericksburg, I can recommend Rathskeller for some great German food. Der Lindenbaum for a more historic setting and excellent dinning.
Excellent shots. The wildflowers are beautiful!
