Went to the annual orchid show at the botanical gardens a couple of weekends ago. Finally getting around to posting a few shots. Would have been great to have been able to set up a tripod and focus bracket a few of them a little more open, but with it being an open public event, had to make do handheld and share the space fairly quickly. Ended up shooting most of them between f5~f8 to try to get some DOF.

R6 body, and either a Canon RF35mm F1.8 macro with a ring flash, or a Tokina EF 100mm F2.8 with a Godox V860-II flash with a mini light box type diffuser. Constructive criticism always welcomed. Still pretty new on the macro stuff.

They softened up quite a bit when I exported them, but still a lot of amazing colors. Hope you enjoy.

Thanks. Still learning the R6, but the eye tracking is amazing. Can even make an old fart like me look like I might know what I'm doing...

We didn't have one last year, so was anxious to get there again. It's a pretty big event. They import quite a stock for sale to the attendees. Good thing they have done it for a while. They set out a quota for the first day and sole out early afternoon. We got there about 30 minutes after they opened on Sunday, and people were saying you needed to get to the sale area because stuff was going fast again. Think they sold out before noon again.

We manage to snag a couple...now if we can just keep them alive...

Thanks for looking, and glad you enjoyed.

Beauties. I went to the 2020 NY Botanical Orchid show. Sma thing only add no flash allowed. I seen someone shooting with a flash so I put my on camera pop up flash set for fill flashTTL but was more than half way threw the show by then. I could of spent a few days there with a tripod & flash set up if allowed. Nice work.
