Bravest (or dumbest) seagull

I was photographing a pair of nesting eagles when I heard the loudest seagull screech I have ever heard. When I looked over I saw a seagull chasing the eagle screeching at him. From what I’ve read seagulls will chase eagles if they get too close to the seagulls babies or food. The article went on to say that the seagulls are more agile in the air than the eagle so it’s unlikely the eagle will catch it. If it does, however, it’s game over for the seagull. The eagle also doesn’t care about the seagull. Here are a few photos. This is either the bravest (or dumbest) seagull. OK, the last one is not an eagle but this little guy signals that Spring is here. And he looks good in the apple tree.

Seagulls don't taste like chicken.

Nice bluebird and action sequence.

Thanks, I'm hoping to get more BIF shots once the babies are born.

My son is a police officer in a Maine coastal community. A few years back they discovered that a guy had a bunch of frozen seagulls in his basement. When confronted as to the illegality of this the man said that they were "beach chickens". Maybe your wrong.

I wonder, do seagulls die as fast as rats from eagle talons and beaks? Gulls are nasty pooping on everything.

Not sure how seagulls taste but have observed the following on multiple occasions. At the dam on the Wisconsin River at Prairie du Sac, seagulls will gather in quantities that they could do a remake of the movie "The Birds" if they wanted to. For whatever reason I never see bald eagles at the dam then. On the other hand have seen as many as nineteen bald eagles, adults and juveniles, gathered at the dam and not one seagull to be seen. I wonder why???

Nice action sequence. Seagulls are fun to photograph even though they are not very colorful and are quite common.

Very nice set of images, Doug.
Around here the mockingbirds and the crows regularly chase away red-shouldered hawks.

Outstanding sequence 😲 Well, the eagle IS flying away, so the full seems courageous ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
