I'm interested in Topaz Sharpen AI software. Does it work as advertised? Any problems ordering the software through them? Because it isn't available in my regular resellers (B&H and Amazon), that is a potential red flag concerning a purchase through them.

No red flags purchasing directly from Topaz Labs. Been buying their products for years. Took advantage of the Sharpen AI free trial for a month, then purchased it as it is the best that I've run into. Using the trial version will tell you if your PC can handle it. Older PC's may not be able to use it. AI apps require a decent graphics card. It does run a a bit slowly on my PC but not so much that it is inconvenient. Version 2 just came through (free upgrade) and it is considerably faster than the first.

First, no worries at all about purchasing directly from Topaz. They have been in business for many years. If you are buying a download, you are dealing directly with the vendor anyway.

Does it work? In my experience, improvements in the basic image are generally possible, but not consistent. Sometimes the results are stunning, other times not so much. I will admit that I may still be on the learning curve. Currently, i use DeNoise AI on almost every image, and Sharpen only when needed. You might take a look at DeNoise as well. DeNoise also has a sharpening function, although it may function differently.

And pay careful attention to the computer requirements that they recommend. A computer without a good graphics card and sufficient graphics memory will not be satisfactory.

Topaz frequently offers discounts on their products, and other Hoggers should have codes for you to use.

I use DeNoise and Sharpen from Topaz. I use DeNoise a lot more than Sharpen. It does not help every shot, but most if somewhat higher ISO. I messaged you a link for a 15% discount.

They offer a free trial.
Try it before you buy it.
I tried Sharpen, Denoise Gigapixel and Jpeg to Raw converter and bought them on sale as a bundle With a discount code from Anthony Morganti's you tub vvids. All in all , bundle+on sale+discount code save me over 50%.

I use Denoise on almost everything I process. I fact I even send images that don't seem noisy through Denoise just to see how it comes out.

Sharpen I use much less often. Normally on an OK image that I want to sharpen but not spend alot of time on.

I love both soft wares. I use Sharpen AI on almost every photo and only use DeNoise AI is there is a lot of Noise. Both cover the other’s function to some extent. DeNoise sharpens and Sharpen does some noise removal.

I agree with this. When it works it really is amazing but it doesn’t on every image. It is slow and inconsistent in testing its software so let others be the guina pigs if your current version works. The last release was much slower than previous one so I got the links for the old version and went back. On Friday I get my new Mac and will try the new versions then. Not all apps will run on the new Macs yet. In the USA Sharpen is on sale for $59 and the affiliates have a 15% coupon which will bring it down to around $50. Try it for 30 days and return it if not satisfied. David Kelly, Matt Suess and others are affiliates. DeNoise btw is great. It should be on sale soon.

It is a great investment. I use it all the time. I loads into my filter drawer in Photoshop, I use it in combination with topaz denoise filter.

Denoise AI generally gets good reviews from UHH members, but the easiest way to see for yourself is to download the free trial. In the end, your opinion is the one that matters.

I cant seem to get a straight answer from Topaz as to it properly fuctioning with Big Sur on a MAC ProBook....When it first came out there were tons of issues with it, and a lot of "Hold Off"....Neither Apple or Topaz want to seem to commit & put it in writing

Direct purchase /download from topaz wen site very straightforward. My issue is that it seems to be incredibly slow. I have a fairly new MacBook Pro with plenty of room on the HD and 16 Gigs RAM. Still excruciatingly slow—nor sure what’s wrong.

Topaz AI programs use the video card and video memory. These might be your bottlenecks, regardless of your system RAM memory. Topaz has their recommended configurations on their site.
