Shot with my Canon 80D/with Tamron 90mm macro and ring flash. I think the streaks in the eyes are a result of the reflection from the flash.

Nice picture! The insect is a kind of fly that mimics a honeybee, so that predators leave it alone.
The stripes on the eyes are actually on this species of fly (!) But the flash does enhance the color contrast of the stripes.

I thought it was a Hover Fly after downloading the pictures on my computer. Really never noticed the eyes when taking the picture in which I thought was a bee.

I bought a ring flash a couple of months ago to try just for this. Haven’t tried it yet too many home spring projects around the house.
