I long have had an A-Mount 100mm f2.8 macro lens. I get mediocre shots from it. I was reading about a popular Minolta 200mm f4 lens that people rave about, but that lens is going for well in excess of 1K$ used on eBay. I decided to mount my 300mm f2.8 lens on a heavy tripod and attach 56mm of extension tubes attached between the 300mm lens and my camera body. This worked fairly well.

I think a lot of people overlook how well the simple extension tube works.

Nice shot. Extension tubes do work if a macro lens is not available.
The exposure on the flowers is right on.

Actually, I think I over exposed it a bit, but was able to save it in post processing. I cheated and did a lot of PP but it worked out okay.

I used Topaz to correct for some motion blur and if you look close you can see signs of over sharping.

My wife is a retired art teacher. She tells me that I'm the most self-critical artist she has ever seen. LOL

Nicely done. Apple blossoms already? All we have blooming are dandelions.
