Very amazing, at least to me.

I agree, and most of it can be traced back to one man.

Yes, he enabled the seriously biased to come out of their closet and rationalize their so called "patriotism".

As long as you wrap yourself in the American f**g and slap a MAGA sticker on your vehicle, you can call yourself a patriot regardless of how much h**e and division you endorse.

I probably dislike him as much as you do, but that gives him too much credit. He was more of a catalyst than a cause.

That is very true . It was always there but he made it acceptable and provided the cloak of patriotism.

And keyboard provided the protection and bravado .

Something I wish I had said:

"Patriotism is the last refuge of the scoundrel"

I disagree. This was also happening under Obama and Bush. Media has changed which has nothing to do with Trump. If social media was used as much 20 years ago as now the same thing would be happening. The media itself has also changed with opinions posing as facts and more activist journalism.

Bull blaming the media is a cop out .. it’s always easiest to blame Someone else . The media is just a reflection of the people themselves.

All the media is doing is monetizing the h**e that masquerades as patriotism.

Having ignored politics for seven years prior to 2020, there have been many jarring moments for me these past 13 months.

One thing that's not "the media" is Trump's thousands of hysterical twitter rants, including when he screamed (in all caps and with the usual number of exclamation points) that Raffensperger and Kemp should be thrown in jail for upholding the Georgia e******n results. And of course everything to do with his Big Lie.

As horrifying as the past year has been, I had to chuckle when I read recently an observation that Trump didn't act "p**********l."
