I've always wanted to get a shot of Horseshoe Bend by Page Arizona. Yesterday was the day. Then about an hour later the transmission in my old trusted truck let go and had to be towed to Flagstaff. The highs and lows of picture taking.
Sorry about your truck...that was a long tow to Flagstaff...glad you got your bucket list shot to ease the pain and, it is a nice capture, put it on your wall!!
Not only that, the sun wasn't quite right for the shot.

Yeah, I didn't have time to wait for the sun, I was on a hurried mission.

I think the truck was jealous and took it out on the cameraman. Water in the river is really down....
BTW, how is it? Back on the road?

Nice photo on the bend.
Why did they tore you too flag instead of page which is only a few miles....
It's a great shot of an amazing spot. Just yesterday we say a similar shot on TV and my sister asked where that was. Thanks to UHHers like you, I knew the answer! The vehicle problem is unfortunate but it probably would have happened somewhere else and at least this way you have something to treasure from the outing.
At least you got your shot.

I broke down just north of the Tuba City turnoff. 80 mile tow, $325.
I love Horseshoe Bend. Unfortunately, I didn't have the courage to hang over the edge to get the iconic shot! I was told they had put up a barrier at the edge. But your image doesn't look like it.

it will be a couple weeks before I can get the truck back, the shop is very busy.

There is a small fence, but mostly you're on your own. I got more shots hanging over the edge, this was close with my cellphone.
