Jumping Spider

This is a quite special Jumping Spider. Not that it is rare however it is special because My Better Half found it in the shower of our RV as she was preparing it for next week's trip. She brought it into the house in a pill bottle (I keep dozens of them for just this purpose) and she gave it to me.

Of course her first words were, "Is this a good one or is it a bad one?" I jumped with joy as I told her that she did well by not killing it and it surely was "a good one".

I picked a dandelion from the yard and placed it in the specimen holder and set it in the large flower pot and put this special little spider on it hoping that it would stay there long enough for me to take a few shots with the camera. It is now living happily ever after in the flower bed in our front yard.

Never had the opportunity to meet one of these guys in the wild. Thanks for saving it and getting a great pic, too.

How kind of you to release it, sippy. He did good and so did you.

Thanks, They are ever so darling and not much larger than a pinky fingernail. Of course they are totally harmless and they dine on smaller insects including small spiders. Many people keep them as pets and they are very social and curious of their surroundings.

Oh, Kpmac. I would never harm anything so adorable. I typically find one expired when they swim in the dog water bowl and then they get a special place in my specimens.

Thanks, I can see why many keep them for they are very social. It was found in the shower of the RV and I placed it on a dandelion that I set up for the shot.
