Another from our day at the Air Museum on NAS Pensacola. As described before, I was in search for the little things that I normally pass by while walking around looking at all the aircraft displays. This was a representation of a tiki-style bar most likely built on one of the FOBs in the Pacific Theater circa WWII.

Probably 9 of 10 visitors don't bother to look beyond the planes. I search my own memory and I can't even place where within the museum this might be placed. But, in this view, you feel almost like you need to swat at a mosquito. Great work!

Thanks for the complimentary feedback Paul.

For reference if you are ever back this way. This display is on the second floor next to the mock-up of a small circa 1940's town. There is what I believe a Corsair being repaired and rearmed for the next sortie.

The room had really bad lighting, so I had to do some work in post to get it presentable.

Thanks Dodie! I remember that show well from syndication growing up and you're observation is pretty spot on. Just to the left (future posting) is an F4 Corsair display, which is what the Black Sheep flew.

Cheers,
Tony

Flit sprayers like the one hanging on the back wall were always around as I grew up. Also those sticky things you pulled out of a tube that came with a thumb tack. Mostly replaced by pressurized cans with non-ddt killer. "Memories" like Frank sang about. Speaking of memories, another non-airplane but aviation related display is the re-creation of Ernest K. Ganns studio in the EAA museum in Oshkosh. As I recall the family donated his "tools" which are displayed showing where his books were written. JimM
