Smart phone ttv

TTV means Through The Viewfinder. The old camera (doesn't have to be old), often a twin lens reflex like this old Argus, is the bottom camera. The top camera is any other camera that can take a picture of what the bottom camera is seeing through its viewfinder.

What makes it faux? Because I took a picture of the viewfinder with my cell phone, and combine them using app software on phone. To be real ttv, the top camera takes the picture instead of being combined with software.

To be faux phone ttv, ask pictures and the joining process have to be done in the phone.

I have seen a couple of beautiful photos taken with a smartphone of the “live view” of a dslr focused on a landscape. I thought that this was what you did with this set except that you took photos of the image in the Argus viewfinder. I don’t understand what you mean that you combined them. What two images did you combine.

You understand the concept. The two pictures are the object of scene viewed, and a blank picture of a bright source (in this case I put a pure white screen on my laptop, then pointed the bottom camera at that, and then took the second picture with the cell phone.

I have decided not to show the blank, as it is a distinctive picture that could stand as a signature of sorts.

The literal effects of the combining, done using Snapseed's double exposure tool, can be seen comparing the two straight phone shots of the Argus with them as they appear with the grit and the border. The border is the part of the blank that stays visible after the blending.

Thanks, jaymatt. Now that I've got an all phone system I might return to this for a while.
