Great photos and beautiful animals. Hey I'm not trying to be a downer but aren't wild horses technically an invasive species? Originally introduced by the Spaniards, I thought I read they have no natural enemies and are wildly successful in reproducing. Better to have horses than Killer Wasps, Bittersweet vines, Gypsy Moths, etc.

True that, we have lots of them in the West, but they sure are pretty when in full flight!!

Beautiful captures! The critters look like they were oblivious of or quite comfortable with a human in their presence. How close were you to the horses? The images don’t look like an extreme telephoto was used.

Usually a 2.8 70-200 G2 Tamron and a 28-300mm. On some occasions, I use my 150-600 for a Lon reach if needed. I always shoot with two cameras so I don't have to change lenses in the field, especially due to the amount of dust kicked up by the horses. We try to keep 50 feet from them, but on occasion, they come up very close to us out of curiosity, but we respect them as wild. Running from a stampede of 50 - 100 is a real rush and I have run for cover with a camera over my shoulder capturing them on a few ocasions.
