I’m considering taking a break, as I’m not seeing anything new, my own photos included.

Completely understandable, John. The thought had crossed my mind, as well.

As a Advanced Beginner in DSLR Photography, I come hear to share my thoughts and receive positive suggestions and advice from other well seasoned or Professional Photographer's. I am 70 years old, doing OK, have been a Photography enthusiast, since the mid 1970's, although with a full-time Job, 40+ hours a week with FoMoCo. and having time with my Wife & 3 children, did not have much free time to Practice my Photography. Now it has changed so drastically I have been "left in the Dust" as they say. Now I am slowly striving to learn all this New Technology, In Photography, Computers, Smartphones, etc. I was born 12/19/1950, I remember my dad had a Kodak Camera with Flash Bulbs, all Black & White that I remember growing up. So, I know I have other UHH members here that are in my age group, and some older and some Younger, but whoever you are I just ask for patience and understanding as us "OLD-TIMERS" try to catch Up!!

And YES, sometimes we Do ask silly Questions in Your Mind, but Not in our Minds, we are still trying to catch-Up.

I also have been considering what to do. In all honesty I'm getting bored. If you did "take a break from here" what would you do? Quit looking and posting anywhere. Change to another site. Post just to something like Flickr. Get more active in a club.

I would be interested in what you would consider as an alternative.

Me too Mike, that's why I'm thinking about it I like to watch the new people come along and, of course, I have a group of people I follow. UHH is like a community that would be hard to leave.

Sorry to hear that John, I always enjoy your photos and they are never the same old thing. I hope you find something new that will inspire you.

We joined UHH the same year, John, so I can understand your feelings. I’ve had several health related breaks over the last few years because of steadily declining mobility. I was finally forced to cut back my posts to just a few every year. I keep coming back just for the camaraderie with my old photo buddies, you included. It’s been especially helpful for me during this time of restricted personal contact.

You’ll certainly be missed if you leave, John, but you’ll always remain a favorite photo buddy of mine. Your posts and comments are respected by so many of us on UHH.

I also now just visit a few times a week because of all the garbage.

There are some that post three or more photo a day no better or difference than the ones the day before.

If you cannot post a photo better than the last one are a difference subject, why posted it?

Then there are the ones that post junk three or more times a day. One I see has over 125,000 posting.

On the other side there are some that post facts and good info like CHG_CANON

I am not planning on leaving just yet but I just cut my visits down

It's good to take a break every now and again. I hope it's not going to be forever.
Curmudgeon, you've hurt my feelings. I thought I was keeping you on your toes!

I get bored, too, John. That's what makes photography challenging. I post a lot of bird pics but I try to mix in some macro and other genres, too. Don't leave. Find a new photographic interest so we can enjoy it, too. I, for one, would miss you. And Bob, too.
