I continue to build my collection of local skies to add to my R/E "sky swap" database. I've often just used my phone or any camera settings I'm using at the time for my R/E exteriors. I was wondering if there is an ideal camera setting that I should be using to get the best image quality for my needs. For example what should the focussing distance be?
Any and all advice welcome. Thanks and keep safe
Meter to get a usual desirable histogram. Focus on any details in the sky. If none, assume near infinity or substitute with something at distance.
Instead of fussing over these settings you would do better to keep track of time of day, direction and elevation above horizon.
When you put the camera in Professional Mode, what does it decide? Mimic those settings.
