These kids are around 13-14 yrs old. The game was practice.
Had somewhat of a difficult time. Game starts at 1:00 pm in my opinion the worst time for shooting.
Most shots Nikon D4 with 200-500 5.6 & 80-400 4.5-5.6 vr.
Other shots D500 with 70-200 2.8.

Won't shoot again until April 9th football

Nice images, Jules. (Looking to see some of what you shared with me offline!)

My favorite is the third one of the lefty throwing. The team name partially obscured with dirt!

Even with the 1:00 light to shoot in you did wonderful as always. Love the football photos, can't wait until grandson starts his season. They had a football meeting yesterday, will have to ask him what they talked about assume it was to let them know what the coaches expect out of them and what they can be doing to prepare for when practices start. We are still starting in the fall. Grandson will be a sophomore this year. Thanks keep up the great post. BE SAFE!

Love them.

You always remind us that some of the best shots are not always the action and sometimes just show us the “love of the game”. My fav in this set is the B&W of the one player on the bench.

Thank you for your comments David. I try to get a bunch of candid shots through the shoot. Emotion, etc. whether it's an umpire, coach yelling.

Loving the baseball series Jules... You are truly a master of capturing the "Pivotal Moment"
The first and last of this baseball series are surreal with the ball frozen on the fingertips!

That said I concur totally with david vt on the epic B&W Headshot... so poignant... so enigmatic...
The very essence of pensive concentration... Absolutely wonderful use of foreground bokeh... which adds so much to this capture's ambiance...

I'm guessing that back in the day you were indeed a baseball player...
Your keen eye and love of the sport shines through your stellar imagery.

Thank you so much for sharing Jules...
You continue to be an marvelous source of inspiration and a very tough act to follow.
Please stay safe...
