Best light weight waterproof jacket

Recently went hiking and got caught off guard by a severe thunderstorm. Fortunately, my camera and lens are both weather sealed. I had a lightweight poncho in my backpack but that made using a camera a little problematic. I am looking for a good lightweight waterproof jacket for hiking with pockets. Any suggestions?

Have you checked L.L. Bean? They provide quality clothes.
A few years ago I bought a light waterproof unlined jacket from them with a hood and lots of pockets.

In addition to L.L. Bean, check Duluth Trading (I consider their quality on par with L.L. Bean). I have jackets, shirts and T shirts from both.

Some of the very best ultra lightweight gear is made by Outdoor Research.

Although their stuff can be seriously expensive compared to the previous suggestions it is premium quality and super lightweight - some of the lightest gear I've ever seen, often packing down to almost nothing, and worth every penny IMHO.

Their "plumber" shirts are the best

Mountain Warehouse Glacier II long waterproof jacket. The seams are sealed. Love it so much that I purchased a second one as a back-up.

Whose plumber shirts? L.L. Bean or Duluth Trading?

Stoopid question here - what in the name of Ansel Adams is a "plumber shirt"?

Edit never mind. I found it on the Duluth site. Doesn't look like a jacket to me!

During my career with the telephone company, I weathered many a storm 18 feet in the air on a pole while wearing Helly Hansen rain gear. It breathes well enough to keep you warm but not sweaty, which can be a problem when exercising or working. The one I have now I bought 25 years ago and it’s still in good condition. It kept my meters and tool pouch dry on many a pole.
That said, most modern day rain gear will do the job, it’s just a matter of your likes and dislikes.
Here’s a link to their web pages.

Edit.
These jackets are very lightweight and will fold down to fit in your pack.

Hello Hanson is well known favorite among sailors for their quality foul weather gear - I have a jacket that must be 20 years old. I like Goretex as a material as it is light and breathable, which is key in the summer - I have two Northface Goretex jackets that are excellent and will likely last the reminder of my life.

You could check ones made by Columbia. Probably not as packable or light weight as some like the Outdoor Research mentioned , but pretty close & most likely less than half the price.
I own one , breathable about $90.00 from Ramsey Outdoors. Models should carry it also .
