Everyone should have an avatar here. It makes it so much easier to recognize posters and remember who said what. If you don't have one, please consider adding one.

I second that, handles are too hard to remember

Too many people changing avatars too frequently. Handles more stable.

If you are anything like me, I have quickly found a core group of posters that I pay attention to and some I even correspond with privately. But avatars make it more interesting for sure.

The ones worth paying attention too and the ones I want to ignore is what I'm trying to figure out being a new member here. It's mentioned above that people may change avatars frequently but for newcomer purposes like myself, members would still have the same av long enough till you learn who is who.

I already have differentiated several members who have avatars. I think there may be 3 or 4 who only have handles that I know to take notice of. It's much harder with handles only.

What's worse, I can't remember someone who gave me a smart remark. How can I possibly look out for them and return the favour in the future???

Another trick I do. If you find someone you want to follow, click on their name and on their profile page you can click "add to buddy list". It will show up next to their name in every post.

Note that per the UHH rules, you are not allowed to have an avatar if your browser has an ad blocker.

It's funny. You mentioned you have gone through six or seven forums looking for one to stay with. Now, three weeks in you are telling us what everybody should do here at UHH. One thing I like about UHH, even though it sometimes causes a little friction, is that everybody is free to do things their own way.

Now I'm sure you'll remember my avatar. I'll have to come up with a new one.

Haha, well, I am a forum veteran not here but other places. When joining somewhere new I'm past the "post slowly and carefully like a newbie" and don't rock the ship. I kinda get right into it and expect a response like yours to possibly come.

I'm making a suggesting here and sure, it may be taken as a demand if coming from a newbie. It's not my intent to demand anything. My suggestion is to aid other newbies such as myself. It's a newbie that will likely start a thread like this (if they dare lol) because the regulars already know each other.

I hold nothing against you but heck, yeah, will probably remember your avatar now.
Hopefully we can have further interaction in the future.
