Dear UHH Friends, I use Amazon Photos as one (of many) backup for my photos. Switched computers and downloaded Amazon Photos onto my win 10 system. Oddly, the application will not allow me to type my user name, passwords, etc.,..it is like the app is frozen. Uninstalled and tried again. Same results. I dont see anything on the internet about this condition.

Anyone have the same thing happen and any remedies?

Hi
I use Amazon photos for my backup. I just goto Amazon.com and logon to my account.

Have you rebooted and try again

All of the above. Reboot, reinstall, virus check. Weird.

I just use an external drive. Bought a 6 terabyte external drive connected by USB.

Problem solved.

I had a different issue (photos in waiting for upload state) and contacted them
via https://www.amazon.com/clicktochat another option is to contact
their support www.amazon.com/gp/help/contact-us/​ or - Calling from within
the U.S. or Canada: 1-800-388-5512 - International: 1-206-577-1364

One of the recos was to:

- Close the application

- Open the file explorer to "%APPDATA%\Amazon Cloud Drive"

- Delete the contents of the directory

- Open the application again and log in

I had a similar problem with updating Maxin DL software, would not allow license # to be entered. Support could not determine the reason. Removal, re-installation, nothing helped. Finally removed software, deleted empty directory (no hidden files found, but still deleted it). Re-installed and bingo, it worked.

This is sort of on topic. I use the Canon R and shoot in raw which produces a CR3 file which is not compatible with Amazon Photo. Does anyone know how to contact Amazon to get them to update their platform?

We've evacuated a few times due to wildfires, and life in earthquake country. Although I am using a back up SSD drive I follow the three rules of backing up data: back up, back up and back the $%&^!! up. Amazon is no added charge for me so I will use it as one of several backups.

Off topic, but a lesson. Decades ago at the dawn of PCs, my best friend spend thousands on a backup system. During a visit, I asked him what he was doing, reply, he was recovering data sector by sector from his drive using Norton's utilities. I asked why since he'd spend for the backup system. Answer, he never used it to backup anything!

I have Seagate 8 TB/USB 3.0 Hard Drive I hook it to my Computer got it at Costco Love it

A true RAW file (CR3, NEF, etc) is data, and not an actual viewable image. When you do see an image either on the back of your camera, or while in the editing process it is actually a system/platform created JPEG, and done so so that you can view it. Bottom line, and my best guess, is that Amazon may not be equipt, or able to handle or store data/RAW files

I use Amazon as a backup and it stores raw files in native format (at least DNG, TIFF, ORF, ARW, and PEF) It also stores video files and xmp sidecar files (those are not unlimited storage). It may not be able to display those raw files in native format but it will archive them.

Nope...they do raw. My prior computer uploaded raw to Amazon just fine. The odd thing is that my computer is brand new...so there should be no issue.
