GOAT (Greatest of All Time) Sports Photographer....

I just watched this 3-part ESPN series thinking it is about the greatest athletes...ever. But it is really about the photographer who captured them and his process--Walter Iooss Jr. It's not about equipment and f/stops, but how he gains their trust and is welcomed into their lives, giving him access and the ability to get 'the shot'.
I think that even if you have no interest in sport; you will enjoy this series.

It could be..but give it a shot before making a 'constructive' comment.

No thanks.
"Greatest", "Best" anything is relative.

I was lucky enough to meet Walter a few years ago at a lecture he was offering in West Palm. He was gracious, interesting and a humble soul. He showed many of his finest works with the stories behind then and well worth time spent that evening. It was a shame it wasn't advertised better since less than 70 people were in attendance, but I certainly enjoyed it. He stayed around and chatted with people for a while after as well.

-preface - I didn't read the post above mine and before hitting send realize I have the same impressions !! -
I caught that series. Walter is humble, and it reinforces what so many in the creative arts seem to know - 500 people could do what they do but they were in the right place at the right time and had the desire. The important thing is when the opportunity presents itself give it 100% and don't lose your humility. It may only take ten years to become an overnight success! The true basis of getting lucky with a shot is to first be prepared.

I never use those. I just say "my favorite". Nobody can argue with that.
