I've been in this situation.
Same with a sneeze. I was in a grocery store when I felt one coming on. I kept my mask on and stifled it (not a good thing to do). A minute later my nose started running. Sheesh!

I recently ate a cookie as I was approaching a grocery store and a little piece of it got stuck in my throat. I had a coughing fit in the parking lot ... and you would have thought I had the bubonic plague!
No one asked if I was alright. Instead, they all made a wide berth around me. Just a sign of the times, I guess.

I've had one for three months and I hate to go out just for that reason. Doc says he won't be able to give me an answer or another month and two more tests. Glad I'm retired.

My son works in a store, and he's amazed to see people remove their mask to cough or sneeze or talk. Then, of course, there are those who wear the mask below their nose.
Right. "But I am wearing a mask."
