Got into photopgraphy when I paid $400 for photos of my kids ski racing and thought, "Hey, I can do this...paying way too much for stupid photos".... 20K of camera equipment later and doing part time paid work ... lol
All the kids are retired Alpine ski racers but we got back on the slopes last weekend and dragged the camera along to get some shots....
Really miss sports photography - like weddings - "you got one chance to get it...."

That is a great shot I love it. I live in Overland Park Kansas just West of Kansas City Mo. We don't get these kinds of photos. Please post more this one is excellent and would love to see more. Thanks BE SAFE.

So enigmatic... so beautifully done...

"...like weddings - "you got one chance to get it...." Albeit you're unlikely billing your Alpine Ski Racing reportage anywhere near your full day of photography support wedding packages which start at $1,895. Shawn commercial sports (in my market) is even more competitive than the Wedding Genre... Although I've done extremely well as a bridal makeup artist... Far more lucrative than photographing sports (again in my market (Washington DC))... might consider a primary focus in the Wedding Market, just a thought.

btw, love your SquareSpace web portal and you have a stellar Facebook presence...
Shawn not only are you an accomplished photographer you have exceptional market savvy...
A winning combination in today's commercial marketplace.

Thanks so much for the encouragement ! I have not updated my website in a couple of years....still doing paid work but started a cycling addiction so funding bikes now . lol. Just in the last week started to return to thinking about photography as a passion again (not just for getting paid reasons)....
Once my superbike is in the stable, will start looking to fund the mirrorless transition....the Canon R series are finally at spec levels that exceed my 5DmkIV in all the categories I care about :-)
