I have used Portrait Professional for some time now and find it a quick fix for the purpose. It is not an overall cure for sure, depending on personal preferences, but it sure is faster than laborious work in Photoshop. Lightroom, I have not learned extensive enough to do the retouching I want in many instances. PP really shines for time saving especially for previews or correcting snapshots.

In the default mode it way overdoes things, but you can dial things back so it doesn't look like someone spent a fortune on plastic surgery. Great for a quick fix and works as a plug-in or stand-alone software: no need to use it through another program. Use the free trial and see if you like it.

I love it! However, I don't do plastic surgery on anyone! No license here for that. I keep all bone structure in place. It is fantastic for a bit of eye-opening, though, and smoothing out skin, etc. I will try to upload a pic I took a couple days ago, then processed through PP. Please keep in mind that the pic was just a practice shot. And to protect the child, I have placed a large copyright symbol over her face and saved it as a very low resolution file.

I love it too. I don't over-correct, although, having said that, had fun with a couple of friends a while back, I'd taken candid photos while we were out at lunch, and we decided to see just how much of a difference we could work with PP, I made their eyes bigger, their lips poutier (is that a word?) skin smoother, I widened the forehead on one - but just for fun, it was more to show just how much we could 'stretch the truth.' When using it 'properly' I am a lot more restrained.

Tried it,,,and decided the same as you (although I was working on an older version a few years ago). Learned how to retouch in PS,,and never looked back.

Unless it was for a magazine or something I don't see that people would want it as it is not a true reflection it's ok to remove the odd spot or blemish but some of the before and after shots looked like completely different people and I don't think that your avarage portrait customer would want/be happy with that it's ok for a bit of fun ( oow I wonder what I would look like if I lost all my facial features ) but I don't see it as a serous tool might just be me

I played with the trail a couple of times, and once you dial down the settings you can do some great work. I did find it hard to get a realistic skin texture though.

I find it funny that all of the samples on their website are WAY over done. And some of their user, submitted contest entries make me want to tear out my eyes.

Having said that, I have seen some shots edited with PP that were submitted here, and they were much better.

It is my personal opinion that a woman is at her most beautiful when the signs of aging are just starting to appear. Why cover that up?

I love it too. First portrait I doctored with this program was a pic of myself. I posted it on Facebook. One of my young nieces sent me a note saying "Wow Auntie, you sure look great!" That did it for me.

I have used earlier releases of the software and found it quite amusing. There are times it is a quick fix but most people overdo the changes.

I feel I can do better using PhotoShop- much better control over the output.

I didnt think anyone would really object as it is only what the PS users do with landscapes, buildings and the likes,my thoughts were in all cases it enhanced the subject and if that is what you want then fine, if it were me as the subject you would need a hammer and chisel.
