They seem to be the priciest. Are they also still the best?

Years ago when I did film I'd only used Kodak.

Kodak replaces the chemicals at the end of usage times they recommend.
Rumor had it back then that that some labs would keep using the chemicals until the chemicals were exhausted (not so good results), then replace them.

I would anticipate that Kodak is still are top notch.

What are you actually asking about? Transferring movies and slides to digital? If so, this is an electronic process without chemicals available from a variety of vendors. I believe Kodak is no longer in the processing business. They make film, paper, chemicals, kiosks, printers and paper/ribbons but are not actually doing the work themselves. Studios, photographers and labs may use Kodak products but the wholesale lab network known as KPL, Kodalux or Qualex no longer exists. Remnants of Qualex may still exist for service of customer accounts, CVS & others, but don't do any processing themselves to the best of my knowledge.
