I second that!

Jon, I see that you live next to the town in which I grew up (So. Weymouth and was stationed at the Naval Air Station there off and on until I transferred to NAS Alameda in 1963). I haven't been back in a long time but may visit this May which is one of the most pleasant moths there in my opinion.

The Naval Air Station closed 24 years ago, in 1997 - back when we though we were done with wars. About the only thing left are a few sheds and a whole bunch of that concrete they poured. Check it out on Google Earth.

I spent quite a bit of time there in the early years of my Navy Reserve career, was on active duty for 85 day accelerated rate training (boot camp) June 1957, then week end drills after that with VP-911 till my 3yr active duty tour, and then on return drilled with VP-912 and back on 9 months temp active duty as a reserve recruiter during the Berlin call up in 1961.
