I currently have a Dell 14" laptop and would like to upgrade to one with a larger screen for viewing photos. I appreciate the group's feedback. I am not very technological so I'm not sure about all the features that are advertised and what is needed. Thanks so much.

Consider a Mac 16inch.

Just plug in an external monitor - as large as you want or can afford. I use 24 or 27 inch monitors myself for my laptop. Easy peasy.

If you plan to use processing software such as the Topaz AI products, you may find that your laptop does not have the video processing capability to allow those programs to run efficiently. Most consumer laptops have their video card integrated on the motherboard, with no option for upgrading. IF you are in the market for new hardware, you might consider looking at the minimum specs for the software you plan to use, and shop accordingly.

I have been shopping Dell Outlet for many years. Huge savings and full warranty.

Dell makes some great monitors that you could plug in to your laptop, assuming it has the processing ability to do what you need it to do.

Seeing how my 2014 outpaces by 2020 Lenovo P1 in Camera Raw, I can only recommend a Mac

BTW, I am not a Mac fan boy and I spent the last two days trying to figure out what's causing the performance issues on the Lenovo, before taking the Mac out of the drawer it had been sitting in for the last 18 months or so.

Strong rumors abound that Apple will introduce ALL NEW 14" and 16" MacBook Pros this Summer. They will be powered by the M-series systems on chips and are rumored to bring back the SD Card slot, the Mag-Safe power charger connector, and possibly a USB 3.2 Gen 2 port, and an HDMI or other dedicated monitor port such as DisplayPort or Mini-DisplayPort.

I was almost ready to pull the trigger on an M1 MacBook Pro 13", but now I will wait and see.

Curious - would you consider a Mac Mini in place of the 13”?
