I've been watching "How the Earth was Made." It was done by the History channel, and it's on YouTube. Last night I learned that the west side of Loch Ness has rock identical to the rock where I live - Catskill Mountains, of NY. Scotland used to be joined to North America, and it separated 60 million years ago.

Found this out quite a while ago. The North American Shield I think they call it. Includes much of Novia Scotia and Newfoundland. I'll have to look out for it.

I find it amazing how often science attempts to disprove God and creation and so many time they actually pove it so. Think about the "Big Bang" theory, God said it and it happened, BANG!

Here is how I believe the Earth was made:
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night.

Do you believe this happened in the 6 days as it is portrayed in the Bible or over a longer period of time?

If you're interested in geology, read "The Map That Changed the World" by Simon Winchester.

Anything written by Mr. Winchester is a good read.

God created a beautiful planet and then put mankind on it to really screw it up. The biblical description of creation, like the rest of the Bible, was written by ancient scholars. Maybe in trying to help the people of those times understand, the biblical scholars collapsed millions of years into 7 days to make it more comprehensible to lay people. And, those that question Darwin’s theory of evolution might consider that God kept experimenting until he was satisfied with the results. Except, in my opinion, he should have kept evolving humans to wean the cruelty, selfishness, greed and violence out of us. So, science and religion can coexist. The biblical “Books of ....” history of the life of Jesus was written in the period 66AD-110AD, long after any of his peers were dead and buried. So, we have to rely on the stories passed down through the ages and the writings of high priests, sages, monks, etc. with all of their biases and training to help us understand their religious “truths”. This is true of every religion, without exception.

I agree with you. The program should have been named "How the earth changed"

And after all that he still had the time and energy to make Santa Claus.

Always amazes me how much information we can drag out of a pile of rocks. And then how this information can be pieced together to make a coherent picture of what happened unthinkable ages ago. We also tend to look at this information relative to where we are, with some how everything revolving around us. We view things as drifting away from or running into us. The reality is that the plate that that North America and Europe (Laurasia?) are/was riding on used to be a lot closer to the south pole than the north pole somewhere back there in the mists of time.
